I am spending today doing&#8230; exactly what I always do. I am writing a finance article, updating my blog, tinkering with my <a href=\"http:\/\/themapmakerchronicles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>. But I am also wondering and waiting.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a funny thing putting a book out. In one sense, it is momentous, and monumental, and massive. But on the other hand, it mostly happens without you. The book goes on the shelves very quietly and then you wait to see what happens next.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time I&#8217;ve had fiction published, and it feels very different to <a href=\"https:\/\/allisontait.com\/books\/\">my non-fiction books<\/a>. It&#8217;s so&#8230; personal.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m lucky in the first reviews of <a href=\"http:\/\/themapmakerchronicles.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Mapmaker Chronicles<\/a> have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readings.com.au\/review\/race-to-the-end-of-the-world-by-al-tait\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">been extremely positive<\/a> and anecdotal feedback from the kids who have read book one, <em>Race To The End Of The World<\/em>, has made me so happy.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, I will wake up, make the school lunches, walk the boys to school with <a href=\"https:\/\/allisontait.com\/2014\/08\/nice-weather-for-ducks-not-for-dogs\/\">Procrasti-Pup<\/a> on a lead (he is practising being a &#8216;real dog&#8217;), and then come home and &#8230; finish my finance article.<\/p>\n<p>So, today is the calm before the calm.
